The Semi-Annual Channel release follows on after the 2016 release. System Center 2016 will exist as the Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) and will be supported for 5 years of mainstream support and 5 years of extended support. The Semi-Annual channel releases are intended to be supported for 18 months with a new release planned every 6 months.
The 1801 version scheme is structured so the first (2) numbers is the Year of release and the last (2) numbers is the month of release so 1801 translates to January 2018.
