Today Microsoft announced multiple new surface products at their event on October 2nd, 2019.
First up they announced the new Microsoft Surface Laptop 3. The new surface laptop 3 comes with available Intel or AMD Ryzen processors, aluminum case, up to 15″ in size, a new studio microphone array, and for the first time modularity to replace the hard drive for easier repair.
Microsoft also announced the Microsoft Surface Duo which is a dual screen Android device coming Holiday 2020. The Surface Duo is a mini Surface + Phone. The idea behind this device is to combine the best of Microsoft with the best of Google and is running Android.
Microsoft Surface Neo was also announced. The Neo has two 9″ screens and a 360 degree hinge, touch, pen, and an innovative keyboard that attaches magnetically and can cover a portion of the lower screen which still having the uncovered portion of the screen be touch enabled. The Neo is coming Holiday 2020.
The Surface Pro 7 also received a few updates as well. The Surface Pro 7 now have USB-C and USB-A ports, all day battery life, new studio microphones, and improved graphics. The Surface Pro 7 start at $749.
The Surface Earbuds were also announced marking Microsoft’s second entry into the headphone category. The Surface Earbuds have omni sonic sound, dual directional mic arrays, 24 hr battery life, 1 click pairing to devices, true wireless, and can be operated via gestures and voice commands. The Surface earbuds will be available Holiday 2019 and will retail for $249.
The Surface Pro X was announced as well which is an ARM processor based version of the Surface. This includes support for a removable hard drive. The Surface Pro X is 5.3mm thin and weighs less than 1.7 lbs. The Surface Pro X has a 13″ PixelSense display with 2880×1920 resolution and 267 PPI, a rechargeable surface pen and pen storage inside the detachable keyboard. A custom Microsoft SQ1 chipset is available that brings together the Qualcomm SnapDragon processor, an AI accelerator, and LTE. Pre orders available now.
